This page is to help Players and Storytellers understand the policies and fees for game sessions.
Players will join a Storyteller's campaign or one-shot and will be charged on a per-session basis unless otherwise explicitly specified by the Storyteller.
Storytellers and Players may use any form of payment or payment processor that they agree upon. There are no restrictions on the payment types which Storytellers are permitted to accept, and at the discretion of the Storyteller, payments may be made through Stripe, Paypal, Venmo, or any other payment processor.
Whether sessions are one-shots with a one-time payment or campaigns with recurring payments, sessions with automatic payments set up are typically charged 1 hour after the scheduled session start time.
All listed games show prices in US dollars unless another currency type is explicitly specified at the time the Player joins a one-shot or campaign.
Stripe accepts payments by card including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, and China UnionPay payments from customers worldwide. Other payment options may be available as well - talk to your Storyteller!
Real Life can occasionally interfere with a Player's ability to attend a session or two. All players are expected to inform their Storyteller that they will not be at the session as soon as possible so that the Storyteller can plan for the absence.
Players should contact the Storyteller to inform them through whatever regular form of communication the Storyteller typically uses to communicate with players (Discord, Facebook Messenger, Carrier Pigeon, etc.).
Players may skip a scheduled session up to 24 hours before without incurring any charges, but canceling session attendance less than 24 hours before a session may result in the full price of the session being charged at the discretion of the Storyteller.
Emergencies or last-minute issues can crop up unexpectedly less than 24-hours before a session; At their discretion, Storytellers may choose to charge only a portion of the session fee or no session fee at all in these cases.
Refunds are issued by the Storyteller through the same payment processing platform that the payment was accepted within 15 days of the refund request.
Refunds will be issued for the following:
A Player has to leave a session early due to circumstances beyond their control such as power outage, internet outage, medical or weather emergency, or other uncontrollable circumstances.
The Storyteller cancelled a session but failed to cancel the payment on the payment platform
The Storyteller does not run a scheduled session for any reason but the session fee is still charged to the Player
The Storyteller does not provide the necessary materials for the Player to participate in a session but the session fee is still charged to the Player
Refunds may also be issued for a variety of reasons at the discretion of an individual Storyteller beyond the reasons listed here, such as:
A Player attended an entire session but really didn't enjoy it or participate and will not be returning for future sessions.
A Player has not been responding or attending games without any explanation for more than a session or two.
A Player has decided to leave the game but failed to communicate this to the Storyteller to end recurring payments.
There is no site credit on ttrpgo.com - Storytellers and Players handle payments and refunds directly with one another.
If a Player believes they have been erroneously charged they should discuss this concern directly with the Storyteller who can initiate a refund per the "Refund" section.
Chargebacks or bank disputes frequently result in additional charges for the Storyteller beyond the amount of the session cost from the payment processor, and thus may result in suspension from all games at the discretion of the Storyteller.
Players may opt to leave a campaign at any time without penalty. To do so, a player should contact their Storyteller to notify them that the Player will no longer be participating in a campaign. Once notified, a Storyteller can stop any recurring payments that may be set up.
If a Player informs the Storyteller that they will no longer be participating in a campaign after the recurring charge has processed, the fee will be refunded by the Storyteller per the "Refund" section!
Storytellers may offer promotions in the form of discounts, coupons, or other incentives at their own discretion.
Personal information that is exchanged between Players and Storytellers is not collected by ttrpgo.com.
No banking or credit card or other payment information is collected or stored by ttrpgo.com.
All payment processing is handled between individual Storytellers and Players using the payment platform or service of their choice (Stripe, PayPal, etc.)
At no time will ttrpgo.com ever sell any type of Player or Storyteller data.
